Casey PTA

If you are interested in getting involved and helping our community school, joining our PTA is great way to get started!  Casey has an awesome PTA that is an important part of who we are. Our PTA organizes many of the great community events that Casey offers our neighborhood. The PTA also help get our amazing teachers all they need to keep our classrooms thriving. For more information, email casey.elem.pta@gmail.com

Outdoor Learning School

Our campus sits on 18 beautiful acres of endless opportunity! Our outdoor school began when Casey partnered with the University of Texas and TX Sprouts, and it has continually grown every year since. It is our goal for all Casey classes to spend part of their day learning in one of our many outdoor classrooms throughout our campus.

Dual Language

We are extremely proud of our dual language program here at Casey. Our dual language students are some of the most successful in the district. Our dual language program starts in Pre-K 3 and continues on through 5th grade. After Casey, students may choose to continue their dual language path into several middle school throughout the district.

Prime Time After School Enrichment Program

Prime Time is an after school enrichment program for students that is funded by the 21st Century Grant and the City of Austin.  We are very excited that our Casey Crocodiles can benefit from a wide variety of teacher led, FREE after school classes. For more information about the Prime Time Program, please visit the program web-page on the AISD Web-Page.

Gifted and Talented (GATE) Program

Casey has a robust Gifted and Talented Program designed to challenge students that are identified as "Gifted and Talented".  GT students are clustered in classrooms with GT certified teachers. In addition to the enriching lessons provided by the classroom teacher, Mr. Garcia, the librarian, meets with the Casey GT Cohort frequently throughout each semester for GT Chess Lunch Bunch and provides support for semester long "Passion Projects".

For more information about Austin ISD's GT (or GATE Program), please click here to visit the Advanced Academics page on the main AISD website.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

The SEL Core has five competencies that ensure students are developing fundamental skills necessary for life. The competences include: Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, Self-Awareness, and Responsible Decision-Making. Social Emotional Learning is crucial in developing the whole child. Casey teachers engage students through active participation in weekly lessons between student grade-levels. The skills are integrated throughout the day.

Texas River School

We are happy to announce that Casey has received grant funding for our 5th grade students to attend the Texas River School in Austin! All 5th grade students will be able to participate in outdoor learning, apprentice their science skills and learn about the our important river and Texas river systems. For more information, visit the

Texas River School website.

C.A.L.T.

Reading is of course one of the most important skills that students need to be successful. In order to help students that may be struggling with dyslexia or other reading concerns, we have several certified C.A.L.T.s. C.A.L.T. stands for Certified Academic Language Therapist. Certified Academic Language Therapists provide diagnostic, explicit, systematic Multisensory Structured Language intervention which builds a high degree of accuracy, knowledge, and independence for students with written-language disorders, including dyslexia.

Breakfast in the Classroom

All Casey students are provided the option of having free breakfast in the classroom every morning. They are offered a choice between a warm option or a healthier cereal choice. Click here to see the school menu.

Free Lunch for All

We participate in the Community Eligibility Provision School program that provides free lunch to all of our students every day. Click here to see a menu of what our cafeteria is offering for lunch.
